Ecologizing Râmnicu Vâlcea
November 17, 2021Covid under control
November 17, 2021We started the day at Cozia National Park to get to know the area a little further. After a
brief introduction by Narcis Olteanu, one of the rangers, in which he told us about the park
limits, animals, biodiversity etc. we started our hike.
We hiked up hill until we reached the “Mănăstirea Stănișoara”, an Orthodox monastery
dating from the XV-XVI century, located in the middle of Cozia mountains. We visited the
monastery and the surroundings, seeing how the life of monks is. We continued our journey to “punct de belverde” where we appreciate some wonderful views of the valley.
Finally, we arrived at the “Turnu Monastery”, a monastery dating from the XV-XVI
century, located next to the Olt River, ending our 12 kilometers long hike around Cozia
National Park.
